The Jimmy Lewis sup demo wagon rolled into Buffalo on Monday evening and provided us with a lot of great sup boards to try.
Shane, the JL rep, was a wealth of knowledge and a fun guy to be around. His stoke for the sport as well as his product was always front and center. After a while he even showed off his paddle skills. ( I think he just needed to join in on the fun.)
A whole truckload of boards were available for us to try, from racers and touring to cruisers and surf models. All the boards are made with high quality and performance in mind. They were also very light and very strong, as was demonstrated by Shane as he did a forearm smash on one of the boards that would make Hulk Hogan proud. He hurt his hand but not the board.
What was the favorite ride? The Reef Warrior consensus seemed to be the Blade II, but the M-14 and the Slice were also well liked.
All in all everyone had a fun evening. If you are looking for a well made paddle board, from a well-respected manufacturer, keep Jimmy Lewis http://www.jimmylewis.com/shopcontent.asp?type=Standuppaddleboarding on your radar screen. We were wowed by the range of board options and sizes.
If the demo tour has a stop near your area check it out. Tell ’em the Reef Warriors sent you. http://www.westcoastpaddlesports.com/2012/05/10/the-jimmy-lewis-10000-mile-demo-tour/
Thanks to Doug http://www.curtissportconnection.com/ for setting this up and Thanks to Shane for being a good host. Come back and check out the Lake Erie surf some time.
