The Lake Erie North Shore Standup

Last year Gidget, Possum, Jim Dandy and surfer George participated in this event. It was very well run and every one had a great time.

If any of you want to try a sup race this would be the event.


Event Details

The Lake Erie North Shore Standup is a paddleboarding race that celebrates Lake Erie Love. A fun race for all ages and paddleboarding levels.

Come for the weekend. We will pick the best weather date for the race, aiming for Saturday. The fun face starts at Nickel Beach, Port Colborne: 5-km, 10-km, and a 20-km distances. Trophies by age, distance categories or for people who raise the most for the Eco-Trail. Beach party at the Palmwood, Crystal Beach, Fort Erie.

Rain date activities:  a tour of Marcy’s Woods with the Bert Miller Nature Club, SUP clinics and restoration activities hosted by the NOTL Surf Club.

Proceeds from this event will support development of the Erie Coastal Stewardship EcoTrail, a 600-km trail project spearheaded by Carolinian Canada with many partners.

Registration open:  7:30 – 9:00 a.m. (including time to shuttle cars. Please show up on time)

Race start time: 10 a.m. Nickel Beach, Port Colborne

End point and beach party: Crystal Beach, Fort Erie

Paddlers will be accompanied by the Fort Erie Underwater Recovery Unit, water crew, road crew and paddle guides.
