I finally got around to building two Kite surf boards this year. I actually shaped them up 3 years ago and they have been sitting on my rack ever since. I have never been happy with kite surf boards over the years they either feel like a wake board or a slow surfboard. It is challenging to make a kite surfboard that can handle the power and speed of a kite, yet still have that feel of a smooth surfy/carvy surfboard. Good thing I am always up for a challenge. 😉
First up is the “Pickle Slicer”. This board is designed to ride the biggest waves that the Great lakes can throw at us. The specs come in at 5’10” x 18 1/8″ x 2 1/8″ 23L Quad fin. This board has the speed and ultimate control of a gun, but yet its sooo smooth to ride. It likes to make big sweeping carves like butter all day long. A perfect big wave board for all, plus a great all-around board for lighter weights. This board even got some special artwork by the infamous “Big Z”. Its a must see and ride.

Next up is the “Guacamole” sizing comes in at 5’x20″x2 1/4″ 26L Quad fin. This is targeted as a Lighter wind/wave board. It is Rocket fast, goes upwind even faster and is very lively on a wave. I designed this board to have a fast squrity style were you can run down a wave, step on the tail and Hit the Lip as many times as you want. Everyone who has tried this board seems to really like it. here’s a quote from one tester. “Light on the feet, planes instantly, goes up wind like a rocket and rides the wave with no power needed from the kite and Top notch workmanship!” Well after comments like that I think I am on to something. 🤔 hahahaha.
